This business will address the current shortage of granite in Lagos state and other neighbouring states. With major infrastructure development projects that is about to begin in Lagos state and Ogun state, such as the 2015 Lagos mega–city project, the Lekki-Free Trade Zone(being dubbed, the Dubai of Africa in Lagos), the Olokola LNG plant and Free Trade Zone in Ogun State, the Forth mainland Bridge project in Lagos, the eight lane Lagos–Badagry expressway project, the six lane 140km Lagos–Ibadan expressway project, the Eko Atlantic project, quarries in and around Lagos will struggle to meet the demand of their various clients. In addition to this, the explosion in the housing development sector has led to a shortage in building materials, hence a rise in price of granite. A United Nations report in 2006 stated that Nigeria has a housing deficit of 17 million new homes, and as the Government and Real Estate developers strive to meet this need, there is a great need for granite supply.
With Nigeria’s vision 2020 in mind, infrastructure development is one of the main keys to achieving this dream, and infrastructure development needs a lot of granite stones.
